ICU and all ACCBAT project partners are glad to announce that, under the patronage of the Ministry of Agriculture of Lebanon, on December 10th, 2015 at the Riviera Hotel in Beirut, the Final Event of the ACCBAT project will be held.
ACCBAT (Adaptation to Climate Change through improved water demand management in irrigated agriculture by introduction of new technologies and best agricultural practices) is a 3-year project for a total budget of 4,998,952.50 Euro promoting environmental sustainability through the increase of water-use efficiency and the use of treated wastewater for agricultural irrigation in Lebanon, Jordan and Tunisia. The project is co-financed by the European Union (90%) under the ENPI CBCMed Programme, of which Regione Sardegna is the Joint Managing Authority.
The event will aim to share the results of project activities carried out by ICU – Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria Onlus, coordinator of the project and its partners: the Jordanian National Center for Agricultural Research and Extension, the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture, the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, and the Italian River Po Basin Authority.
The event will also host the signatory ceremony of the Collaboration Agreement among project Mediterranean partners on the use of a shared Water Quality Index developed by the project.
On December 11th, a visit of the ACCBAT pilot site for agriculture irrigation with treated wastewater in Ablah, will also take place.
