Italian Ambassador visits Gitaza Market, Burundi

On Saturday, September 10, 2022, Ambassador Mazzanti on a visit to Burundi met with ICU staff to visit the Gitaza market, about thirty kilometers south of Bujumbura.

Thanks to the project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), ICU has installed a massive photovoltaic system – among the largest and most functioning in Burundi – that allows you to have electricity in one of the non-electrified areas of the country for productive activities and services

In the presence of representatives of the Municipality and ABER – Burundian Agency for Rural Electrification, the Italian Consul and accompanied by the ICU team, The Ambassador met the beneficiaries and reiterated the will of Italian Cooperation to accompany the country towards self-development.
