Overview:
1) To provide educational, psychological and social support to potential school dropouts in the area of Banado de Tucumbù.
Project purpose: to establish a development facility for children and their families, in the district of Banado de Tucumbù, able to provide social care, training, healthcare and nutritional services to the local population.
Activities:
• Organization of training courses for children;
• Organization of training courses for parents;
• Teacher’s training;
• Child healthcare and nutritional services and food supplies.
Risultati:
– 3 rooms, toilettes, a playground and administration offices (for coordination, secretary, cooking and cleaning) have been built and educational materials have been provided;
– The kindergarten has worked every day with regular classes.
– The majority of children has improved physical and psychomotor abilities. Children have taken part to all the activities, they have joined the class group and got good educational results; Children have been vaccinated.
– Cases of undernourishment and parasitosis have decreased thanks to the free pediatric checkups adressed to all children every 3 months;
– Two-monthly training laboratories have been carried out for mothers, as well as threemonthly
interviews with teachers;
– Three-monthly meetings have been carried out with all the teachers, as well as a twomonthly training laboratory for teachers and several interviews with the kindergarten coordinator.
