Project final event
The action realized a pilot project that ensures a high energy performance and that lowers the electrical consumption and the connected costs. These specific necessities emerged as a consequence of the accelerating growth and unexpected demand for electricity that Jordan is facing. ICU and NCARE (National Center for Agricultural Research and Extension) were able to define these priorities after a series of consultations. In particular, they decided to improve the energy efficiency and to introduce renewable energy solutions in 5 NCARE buildings. Thanks to these technologic innovations the project will demonstrate the benefits of EE and RE solutions and it will help increasing the public awareness on them. A key aspect of this action is the replicability. The parties agreed to make an energy-saving pilot project that includes the installation of window frames and glazes and insulation of roofs to preserve the thermal insulation and the installation of PV panels and one solar water heating system to provide energy for the buildings. Throughout the implementation of the project it will also be implemented a monitoring plan, in order to collect and analyze data about effective energy savings, reduction of CO2 emissions and costs savings. The action has been structured to have a great impact on a significant number of people, to be feasible also for small houses and to be easily replicable.
