Overview:
1) To enhance the health level of Congo by a partnership programme among S. Anna Hospital from Como and Monkole Hospital from Kinshasa. The specific goal of the project is to provide training course for the local sanitary staff and to provide technical and medical assistance.
Activities:
– training of 2 doctors, 3 nurses and 1 laboratory technician of Monkole Hospital at the S. Anna Hospital of Como;
– training of 20 doctors, 40 nurses and 20 laboratory technicians at the Monkole Hospital provided by Italian doctors;
– 15 surgical interventions realised by Italian doctors through a mission in D.R. of Congo;
– at least 4 very serious Congolese patients admitted to the S. Anna Hospital; some other admissions may be arranged at the Meyer University Hospital Centre in Florence.
Results:
– equipment for the Monkole Hospital provided;
– training of 25 doctors, nurses and technicians at the Monkole Hospital provided by Italian doctors realised;
– training of 2 nurses from Monkole Hospital at the S. Anna Hospital realised (3 months);
– 2 Congolese patients admitted to the S. Anna Hospital.
