The project aims to implement professional training activities for Lebanese citizens and Syrian refugees in the agri-food sector and to support the development of agricultural and agri-food cooperatives, promoting links with the labor market. Purpose of the project is to improve employment opportunities in the Bekaa Valley area in Lebanon.
Funded by Italian Agency for Development Cooperation ( AICS), the project carries out a market study, provides training, equipment and technical assistance for 17 agri-food cooperatives and training courses and paid internships for the most vulnerable beneficiaries.
At the end of the project, after 12 months, 17 agri-food cooperatives will increase their production capacity and 30 Lebanese citizens and Syrians refugees will acquire professional skills expendable on the labor market.
