An installed Groasis Waterboxx
The Groasis Waterboxx (GW) is an integrated planting technology that allows planting fruit, fodder trees and shrubs in degraded farmland and rangelands, thus covering eroded soils and building up organic matter while providing valuable nutrient sources of fruits and feed for both humans and animals.
GW is an inexpensive technology that allows the restoration of degraded ecosystems and the productive use of land on large scale. This is especially needed in MENA Countries where a rising demand for agricultural products combined to a fragile natural environment is rapidly increasing pressure on scarce land and water resources.
Country of operation is Jordan, where the Groasis Waterboxx (GW) would allow expanding pastures to underutilized desert steppes and increasing feeding value and resilience to environmental stresses of overexploited areas. Expected end-users are rural population living in Ghor and Badi a regions. The solution will help improve and diversify their production, cutting their costs. The GW will also tackle food security issues in less developed areas by increasing fruit and fodder trees establishment in marginal lands.
