Istituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria Onlus (ICU) participated to the International Beirut Energy Forum 2016 in September, presenting “PV Integrated Irrigation Systems in Jordan and Lebanon” project, implemented through the support of PoweringAg. The Forum hosted visitors, speakers, sponsors, and exhibitors from 22 countries, offering a national and regional platform for energy experts and professionals from the public and the private sector to meet, discuss, and develop the sustainability sector in Lebanon. “PV Integrated Irrigation Systems in Jordan and Lebanon” project was part of the exhibitors, and showcased how it is implementing systems that couple solar energy and efficient water use for agricultural purposes, along with a sustainable business model which is in order to facilitate access to the technology for potential customers. The project booth was also visited by HE. Mr. Arthur Nazarian, Minister of Energy & Water, who remarked the importance of reducing the use of diesel generators in the country and improve the solar sector in Lebanon.
